Reiki - An energy healing therapy that activates the bodies natural healing process was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century, whose origins are believed to have come from ancient Tibet. Reiki means Universal Life Energy in Japanese where the practitioner places their hands both on and off the body whilst the reiki energy is drawn to where it is needed. During treatment the recipient will be fully clothed and lying down and may feel a mild tingling sensation, warmth or coolness around the area being treated. At most the recipient will be deeply relaxed and feel very calm.
